Justin Bieber Under The Mistletoe Set Record Of 2 Million Sales

Justin Bieber Under The Mistletoe Set Record Of 2 Million Sales

Teen superstar Justin Bieber is making history once again with his latest record. His holiday album Under The Mistletoe has sold over two million copies in the last two months! Here is what Justin tweeted to his Beliebers:

Over 2 MILLION ALBUMS sold of #UnderTheMistletoe – thank u!
I think it’s just wonderful that he is bringing back holiday music to the masses. And while many popstars release a Christmas or holiday album at some point in their music career, not many of them can make it fun and fresh. With a mix of traditional songs(Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night, The Christmas Song, and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town), new holiday songs(Mistletoe, Only Thing I Ever Get For Christmas, Christmas Eve), and cool duets(Fa La La feat. Boyz II Men and All I Want For Christmas feat. Mariah Carey). There are probably lots of tweens and teens rocking out to this fun album while ordering gifts online or wrapping presents!
Have you got a chance to hear Justin Bieber’s “Under The Mistletoe” album? Is it as good as you hoped it would be and if so, what’s your favorite track? Would you love it if Justin release another holiday album in the next few years?

Celebrity of the Year Finalist #5: Justin Bieber

Not so fast, Times Square ball.
Before we celebrate the beginning of 2012, it's time to raise a glass to the year that was. At THG, we're doing that by counting down the 10 most newsworthy celebrities of 2011.
First, there was the arresting centerfold Lindsay Lohan at #10; then the newly-divorced reality show judge Jennifer Lopez at #9; then the singing sensation Selena Gomez at#8; then those hilarious viral video stars at#7 spot; then everyone's favorite California Gurl Katy Perry at #6.
Now, at #5, who else? Justin Bieber himself!

2011 was the year Justin Bieber went from floppy-haired niche favorite to mainstream teenage icon. He met the President, he made wishes come true for family members of 9/11, he even proved infallible to the classic celebrity scandal.
Seriously. Nice try, Mariah Yeater.

Coming into this year, we all knew Justin could sing. But 12 months later, we know now he can also play basketball, give back to charities and dominate the box office as much as he can the music charts. "Never Say Never" made millions across the U.S. and was actually applauded by most movie critics.
Bieber can also rap, act (hello, CSI guest starring-spot!) and almost take down Twitter single-handedly by merely getting a haircut.
Justin went public in February with Selena Gomez, but that relationship has not slowed down his popularity. To the star's credit, he's been nothing but open about his feelings and his connection to this pretty artist. The only drawback of their courtship? How Bieber has made every other boyfriend in the country look horrible by comparison, thanks to stunts such as this.
A crossover star, Bieber sang duets in 2011 with everyone from Chris Brown to Mariah Carey, Usher to Boyz II Men. We're looking at our generation's next Justin Timberlake here, a singer who can step across genres, on to the big screen, really succeed anywhere across the entertainment spectrum. The guy is seriously talented.
Justin concluded an incredible year by releasing a Christmas album that shot to number-one on the charts, to no one's surprise. He made the media round in promotion, dazzling David Letterman and singing live for Today Show viewers. You name the medium and Justin Bieber has controlled it over the past few months.
So congratulations on your number-five ranking, JB. We have a feeling you'll be a mainstay on this countdown for many years to come.

During an interview, a belieber whips out some mistletoe, and Justin’s such a nice guy that he takes a peck on the cheek!

Selena Gomez must have rolled her eyes when Justin Bieber named his album Under The Mistletoe— he gave fans everywhere a chance to trick him into a kiss!
Justin, 17, got interviewed on KYDZ Radio Las Vegas by pint-sized DJ Jillian when she suddenly pulled out some mistletoe, totally putting the singer on the spot! Luckily, Justin gladly took a peck on the cheek from this adorable fan — it’s too cute.

Justin Bieber stages a private concert at Las Vegas elementary school

Teen pop icon Justin Bieber performed at a private Christmas concert Friday for a Las Vegas elementary school known for providing needy students’ families with food, clothes, money for utility bills — and just about everything in between.
The 17-year-old star’s concert, featuring songs from his holiday album “Under the Mistletoe,” came along with a $100,000 donation to Whitney Elementary School, which has garnered publicity for providing needy students’ families with food, clothes, money for utility bills — and just about everything in between.
It was clear Friday that the mid-December chill wasn’t cooling down Bieber fever. Second-grader A’mya Saulsberry and third-grader Mia Godinez were wearing glittery hair bows and T-shirts emblazoned with teen pop icon’s face as they walked with their grandma to school.
Here are more pics:

“When he noticed how kind we were and how gentle we were, he wanted to come,” Godinez explained, as a Justin ballad fit for a sixth-grade slow dance piped from campus loudspeakers.
After Justin announced on a Nov. 1 episode of “The Ellen Degeneres Show” that he would visit to perform songs from his album “Under the Mistletoe,” the hundreds of students watching the taping from their Las Vegas school erupted into screams and cheers, and even tears of joy.
“For the kids, it shows that someone loves them and cares about them to follow up,” principal Sherrie Gahn told the Las Vegas Sun after the taping. “When you live in an existence where everything seems so hopeless, it’s an amazing gift they will never forget. It’s beyond their wildest dreams.”
Whitney Elementary was first featured on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in September. The episode highlighted how the school provides a food pantry, clothes closet, free haircuts and literacy training for students’ families.
Gahn said more than 85 percent of the school’s 600-plus students receive free or reduced lunches. The school also has one of the highest homeless student populations in Nevada’s Clark County School District.
Gahn told “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” she made a pact with families after she arrived about eight years ago. “I’ll pay your electrical bill, your utilities, I’ll give you food or clothes, whatever you need, as long as you give me your child and then help raise that child as a person of character,” she said.
Families at the school told the show Gahn has stayed true to her promise. Gahn said most of the donations come from individuals or businesses, and she said the show has brought an outpouring of support. Justin’s gift matches a $100,000 donation from Target that was announced on the September episode.
“My biggest motivator for the kids and the thought and hope that they don’t have to live in this existence when they grow up — that they break the cycle,” Gahn said.

'X Factor' Finale: Drew Ryniewicz to Duet With Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder

On the set list: two songs from Justin Bieber's platinum-selling "Under the Mistletoe" album.

X Factor fan favorite Drew Ryniewiczwill see her dream come true next week when she performs on the show’s finale with her idol Justin Bieber. On the set list: two songs from his Under the Mistletoe album, which was just certified platinum marking sales of more than 1 million copies, reported to be “The Christmas Song” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” The performance was taped on Dec. 14 following the broadcast.
Stevie Wonder will also accompany the two, sources reveal to THR. On Saturday night, Bieber, along with Drake and Michael McDonald, is scheduled to appear at L.A.’s Nokia Theater for the 16th Annual Stevie Wonder House Full of Toys benefit concert.
Viewers may recall that 14-year-old Arizona native Drew auditioned for X Factor with her own unique spin on Bieber’s hit “Baby.” The performance was good enough to get her through to bootcamp.
Although she made it as far as week 6, Drew, who dropped her last name halfway through the competition, was sent home after failing to impress with “Listen to Your Heart,” a 'save me' performance even she said “sucked.” Her elimination resulted in Twitter wars and death threats aimed at judges Paula Abduland Nicole Scherzinger, who voted to send Drew home.
While traumatic for all, Drew felt a lot better the next morning when her favorite pop star tweeted a message of support her way and joined her ever-growing legion of followers (134,000 and counting). Bieber’s words: “keep yr head up. I lost my 1st competition too. this is just the beginning. never say never.”
Indeed, for Drew, never seems to be now.
The finale airs live from the X Factor studio on Dec. 21 and 22 on Fox.

Justin Bieber Previews 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' Music Video

One day before the premiere of Justin Bieber's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" music video, a short snippet comes out to give a clue on what to expect from the soon-to-be-released clip. Wearing a festive-themed jacket, the popstar is seen shopping for Christmas gifts with a few friends in a colorfully-decorated mall.

The full music video is set to be unleashed on Wednesday, November 30 during the airing of the annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting on NBC.Mariah Carey, the original singer of the single who also lends her vocals to Bieber's version, will make a cameo. She'll be seen lounging in a Santa Claus sleigh with her dog Jill E. Beans.

The other special guests in the upcoming video include Alfredo Flores and Adam. The former once worked with Bieber to direct his "U Smile" music video, while the latter is the brother of his manager Scooter Braun. Justin Bieber to perform on this weekend's X Factor UK

Justin Bieber to perform on this weekend's X Factor UK

Justin Bieber has revealed on Twitter that he will be performing on this weekend's X Factor.
The teen idol, who is promoting his Christmas album “Under the Mistletoe”, announced the news to his Twitter fans by writing:

“UK!!! X Factor this week. #Mistletoe”

Bieber performed on German X Factor on November 15 and is rumoured to also be lined up to sing on the season finale of the US X Factor on December 22.

He recently recorded an ITV special in London called “This Is Justin Bieber,” which is set to be shown next month.
During the show he dueted on a new and revamped version of “Drummer Boy” with Tinie Tempah.
Earlier this month, Mariah Yeater, 20, claimed that Justin was the father of her four month old son.
She said that Justin, 17, plucked her from the crowd at his concert in LA back in October 2010 and slept with her backstage.
Last week the singer described how he took a paternity test to prove that he is not the father.
Talking to David Letterman Justin calls Mariah a “weasel”.
He says: “I think I could smell a weasel a little bit.
“It’s pretty crazy how people make up false accusations. But I’m 17 – it’s gonna happen, being in the spotlight.”
Justin shrugged off the baby claims, saying: “People can say whatever.”
When asked if he had gone ahead and taken the paternity test, Justin said casually: “Yeah, I took it.”
And after being probed about whether he had to get naked, Justin said: “No! They just swab your mouth.”

Justin Bieber, She & Him join holiday music tradition

She & Him, “A Very She & Him Christmas” And Justin Bieber Misltetoe

Parents are likely to buy Justin Bieber’s Christmas album for their kids and pray that their young ones will only play it through their headphones. But the elders would be missing out. Bieber’s “Under the Mistletoe” is a thoroughly entertaining offering for all ages — sometimes even more so for the adults.
Although he’s still a teen heartthrob, there’s little childlike about this album (except for the song “Someday at Christmas,” which closes out the deluxe CD, where a much younger Bieber channels Michael Jackson).

Bieber’s voice has deepened, and the bubble gum sound has given way to a more mature, soulful sound. Bieber sounds convincingly romantic on the album’s opener, “The Only Thing I Ever Get For Christmas.” And on the soulful upbeat groove “Fa La La,” with guests Boyz II Men, he sounds almost — dare we say it? — sexy.

But before we venture into Mariah Yeater territory, let’s focus on some of the other songs on the album. He joins Mariah Carey on her holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You”; the Band Perry for a powerful “Home This Christmas”; enlists mentor Usher on a charming rendition of “The Christmas Song”; and gets funky with Busta Rhymes on a hip-hop version of “Little Drummer Boy” (here simply called “Drummer Boy”), as both trade rap verses.

Bieber breathes new life into old standbys and offers up new songs that have the potential to become future classics. Even if you don’t have kids, “Under the Mistletoe” should be under your Christmas tree.
