Has Justin Bieber really spent $1 million on girlfriend Selena Gomez? That's what friends of the Never Say Never singer are saying. What on earth has he spent that much money on?

According to omg! , some of Justin's friends fear he's quickly working his way through his hard-earned cash in an attempt to impress Selena Gomez. He is afraid that because she's two years older than him (he is 17 to Selena's 19 years) that he needs to impress her in order to hang on to her.

Do you think this is true? Do Justin's friends really know what they're saying or is this simply speculation on their parts? Could they be jealous that Justin Bieber doesn't spend that kind of money on them or shower them with gifts and adventures the way he does Selena?

Here's what one of Justin Bieber's buddies has to say about the situation.

"She is his dream girl. He really wants to impress her. Every date is a production, from bodyguards to flowers, private jets to catered meals. Plus, he buys her major gifts. It's all adding up pretty quickly," the friend says.

Everyone has read about the expensive hotel suites, the private dinner and movie at the Staples Center in L.A. and rides on a private jet--but isn't that what young people who make the kind of money that these two make do? They both seem quite grounded, so it comes as a surprise to learn that Justin Bieber could be spending that kind of money simply as a means of holding on to Selena Gomez.

And besides--Selena's no slouch. Her popularity increases almost daily and she must be making pretty decent money of her own.
