Yakult -A Health Drink

Yakult is a fermented milk drink containing over 6.5 billion probiotic (friendly) bacteria - Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota. Unlike most bacteria found in normal yoghurt, these probiotic bacteria are able to survive the acidic environment of the stomach and reach the intestines alive In the intestine they change the environment to favour the growth of beneficial bacteria and suppress the growth of harmful bacteria.Yakult is derived from the word "Jahurto", meaning "yoghurt" in Esperanto.

Yakult and yoghurt are both cultured dairy products made from milk fermented with live bacteria. Yakult is unique because it is made using Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain, not the strains of bacteria used in yoghurt. Yakult is not a substitute for milk /dahi and vice versa. The bacteria in Yakult (Lactobacillus casei strain shirota) are not found in any other food and hence it is recommended to include Yakult in your daily diet along with dahi and other dairy products

The friendly bacteria in Yakult help to improve digestion and build immunity when consumed everyday.

Recommended for all age groups including children above 1 year and the elderly.Yakult is a delicious probiotic drink that should be a part of the daily diet.

Over 30 million people in 32 countries trust Yakult and drink it everyday!

Benefits of Yakult

Optimal health starts with a gut that is functioning well. When our gut is healthy, we remain healthy as 70% of our immune system lies in our gut. Including probiotic food with proven health benefits in our daily diet is an easy way of ensuring the balance of our gut flora.
Yakult is a well researched and proven probiotic health drink that was launched way back in 1935. Yakult contains beneficial bacteria (probiotics) in large numbers that reach our intestines alive and help to restore the balance of the friendly bacteria in the gut.
To work efficiently our digestive system needs a healthy balance of intestinal flora where the number of beneficial bacteria far outnumber those that are potentially harmful. An imbalance of the gut flora can be caused by the following:
  • Stress
  • Disease & illness
  • Indiscriminate use of Antibiotics
  • Unhealthy lifestyle habits
  • Imbalanced diet
  • Ageing
  • Intensive Travel
In such cases the beneficial bacteria may decline in number causing the potentially harmful ones that are detrimental to human health to thrive. This results in disease and infection.

Yakult can be added to cereals, smoothies, milkshakes, cheesecakes or any other cold foods. If the bacteria are subjected to high temperature they die, so do not add Yakult to hot foods or beverages. It is scientifically proven to

1.Improve bowel movement and aid digestion
2.Maintain balance of good and bad bacteria
3.Reduce toxins in our body
4.Help build the immune system (reduce risk of infections)
