If anyone has been negatively affected by the allegations that Justin Bieber fathered a bastard baby, it’s his girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
The ‘Who Says’ pop songstress stopped into ‘Ellen’ on Thursday (Nov. 17), where she opened up to the funny host about how the boo-boos in Justin’s life are impacting hers. “I have to ask before we talk about anything else. What a crazy last two weeks it’s been in the news,” Ellen said just a few seconds after Selena grabbed a seat in the chair next to her own. “To say the least,” the 19-year-old singer responded, not going into too much detail other than to say that she’s fine, though “it’s not easy.”
‘Not easy’ is an understatement. Justin’s name has been sourly plastered all over tabloid covers recently, both online and off, with many believing the claims that he’s the baby daddy of the four-month-old. Given that Selena is supposed to be his ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ — his one and only — we can imagine that even she feels like she’s been wronged in this sad situation, even though they’ve had their own bout with pregnancy rumors in the media in the past.
Ellen didn’t stay on the subject long, but she did ask Selena about some of the more positive moments in her relationship with the Biebs, like how he made headlines when he rented out the Staples center in L.A. so the pair of them could watch ‘Titanic’ together. Her favorite part of their romance, however, is how she does nice things for him on the sly. “My favorite is that mine don’t get out. Obviously that’s very sweet, but I like to do things that are a little bit different,” she told the audience. “He always gets mad because everything he does gets out, and he’s like, ‘How come nobody knows what you do!’ I’m like, ‘I’m just saying… I’m good that way!’”
As for the Biebs, he hit up a radio show on Thursday morning and too commented on the headlines, saying simply, “You just have to keep your head high and be positive and that’s all I really have to say.”
